Covering the details of particle counting and sizing techniques, calibration, sampling, principles of measurement and typical reports generated For all: Principles / Measurements (equipment, procedures) / Validation / Data processing / Result report & interpretation. Please note that the following topics are beyond the scope of this introductory course on liquid filtration testing: techniques and products used to recover and dehydrate solids from a liquid phase, cake filtration nor air and gas filtration. GERARD J. LYNCH, P.E. Jerry has 25+ years of experience in filtration testing, design engineering, and manufacturing operations. He has extensive experience in filtration and separation technologies and advanced testing techniques. Mr. Lynch is currently the President of IFTS International Filter Testing Services, Inc. in New Jersey. IFTS is an independent, non-profit center specializing in Filtration and Separation Science, Research and Testing. IFTS provides laboratory and consulting services to industry with locations in Europe and the USA. The management at IFTS has compiled a world class team of scientists, engineers and technicians in the field of Solid-Liquid Separation. Industry experience includes: automotive, aeronautical, biotechnology, chemical processing, hydraulic fluid power, environmental, medical device, and offshore marine and shipbuilding. Jerry has been a member of the American Filtration and Separations Society (AFS) since 1988. He was the AFS National Chairman for 2006-2007, and has been an AFS board member since 1999 serving as Chapter Affairs Chairman and is the current President of the Mid Atlantic Chapter. Other areas of technical involvement include ASTM, Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers, American Society of Mechanical Engineers, and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers. Education: MS Stevens Institute of Technology: Hoboken, New Jersey, BE Engineering; State University of New York: Stony Brook. Mr. Lynch is a licensed professional engineer in the States of NY & NJ. CHRISTOPHE PEUCHOT Christophe PEUCHOT is Engineer in Water Sciences and Technologies (Montpellier, 1979). He got a PhD in Industrial Chemistry (Toulouse, 1982) and a Master of Environmental Engineering at Polytechnic School (Montreal, 1981). He joined the Institute of Filtration and Techniques of Separation at its creation in 1981, and has been appointed Managing Director in 1986. Major Activities: Administrator of professional Societies: Société Française de Filtration (French Filtration Society), Aquitaine Pole of the Technologic Advisers, CRITT Chemical Environment of "Ile de France", Member of the Filtration Society UK and of the Board of Directors of the American Filtration and Separations Society (AFS). Vice President of the Aquitaine Region Innovation Agency (INNOVALIS). Founder and dynamic force behind several French and European standardisation committees; French delegation Chief to several International Standardisation committees ; Project leader to the drafting of about 10 ISO and NF filter testing and particles and suspensions characterisation standards. Organiser of scientific and technique shows as the 6th World Filtration Congress (Nice, 1990). Author or co-author of more than fifty lectures and articles in international journals and congresses. Inventor of several filter testing and suspension characterisation concepts, methods and equipments.
