East Walpole, MA June 17, 2010: Hollingsworth & Vose today announces plans to rebuild one of its production lines at the Winchcombe, UK manufacturing site.  This investment will result in step change performance improvements in the microglass media produced at the site, and will more than double H&V’s European microglass filtration and microglass battery separator manufacturing capability. H&V currently manufactures microglass media in the United States, Europe and Asia.

H&V sees strong growth opportunities for its technically advanced media used in battery, air filtration, hydraulic and coalescer applications.  As the recognized global microglass media technology leader, H&V continues to invest in technology innovation and manufacturing improvements.  “Customers in the EMEA region will benefit from increased microglass capacity resulting in increased service while continuing to receive the highest quality materials,” commented regional Vice President Jochem Hofstetter.  H&V has been a leading supplier to the cleanroom market since the 1940’s and the battery market since the 1980’s.

The rebuilt line is expected to be operational by the second quarter of 2011. H&V is committed to the European market and the Winchcombe site, which it has owned and operated since 1982.

East Walpole, MA June 15, 2010:   Hollingsworth & Vose today announces it is the recipient of the prestigious Suzhou Industrial Park award for the Human Resources “Most Innovative Company.”

H&V’s Suzhou, China mill was established in 2006 as a greenfield investment to serve customers in the Asia Pacific region.  The Suzhou human resources team created and developed the team since the inception of the site, promoting industrial transformation and technological competitiveness.

It is an honor for H&V to be selected as one of 25 companies to win the award from a pool of 10,000 participating companies.  The Suzhou site was also awarded a stipend from the local SIP Government as recognition for the low turnover rate during the recent significant economic crisis.  The site continues to grow, adding further capacity which supports the Asia-Pacific region.
