Mid-Atlantic Chapter Meeting

The AFS Mid-Atlantic chapter meeting was held on 12/8 at the Hyatt Regency, Princeton,NJ and hosted by Eaton - Filtration Division Corp. There were 22 attendees of which 11 were non- members and I handed out membership forms; and one told me he would join. We had an excellent lunch provided by the Hyatt staff in their restuarant. We had basically five talks:

Jerry Lynch,IFTS - "How Proper Testing Can Define the 'DNA' of your Filter and Filter Media"
Ernest Mayer, DuPont - "Filter Media Testing"
Dave Taubenslag, Eaton - "General Overview of Eaton" and "Eaton Filter Media"
Bruce Law, Eaton - "Tubular Backwash Filtration" and "Automatic Straining"
Christopher Rau, Eaton - "Mechanically Cleaning Filters"

Eaton also brought demonstration units for a lively "show and tell" as well as many brochures describing their filtration products. Jerry also handed-out a recent Filtration News journal which contained the IFTS 'DNA Filter' article. In short, it was a very successful meeting with much lively discussion and networking. Mid-Atlantic, Empire, and Great Lakes chapter meetings are planned for Spring 2010.
